Boom truck brake line let go over a sidewalk in Austin

Last Thursday I was setting a 4,000 lb AC unit and the hydraulic brake line blew near a crosswalk, lucky no one was under it. I shut the unit down and chocked everything before calling the shop, took 5 hours to get a replacement hose. Any other operators carry spare line fittings on the truck, or is that overkill for most jobs?
