Stop sorting your games by console, it just makes everything worse

I get why people do it, but sorting your whole shelf by console is a trap. I tried it for 3 months and ended up with 4 half-empty cubbies while my PS2 stuff ate two full shelves. Alphabetical across everything takes less room and you stop hunting for a game you forgot you owned. In my 6 foot closet I went from 38 games spread over 5 shelves to the same 38 fitting on 3, and now there's room for my cables. Console grouping only works if every system has 20+ games, and most of us don't. If you have under 50 total, just go A to Z with a little tag on the spine. What system do you have the most of, and does it actually fill a whole shelf?
