Still split on digital vs physical after a buddy's closet tour changed my mind
Tbh, I always thought digital was the way to go until my friend Dave showed me his tiny hallway closet last month. He had this 2 shelf setup with every physical game spine facing out, sorted by series, and even little labels for the loose cartridges. He said 'the shelf is the memory, the download is just a file' and it honestly stuck with me. Now I'm torn because I love the convenience but his setup made me want to rebuild my entire collection. Anyone else have one conversation that flipped their whole approach to game storage?

Dave's closet sounds cool but it's just stuff sitting on a shelf. A game you can't play anymore is a dead game, and discs scratch, carts get lost, consoles die. Your download works on the next system and the one after that while Dave's little museum just collects dust. He made one pretty corner of his place and you want to redo your whole setup over it? Give it six months and the newness wears off and you're stuck storing boxes you never touch. The memory isn't the shelf, the memory is actually playing the game.
