I zip tied every cable in my arcade corner and the whole shelf quit turning on
Last Saturday I finally cleaned up the mess behind my retro setup in my 8x10 spare room, and I bundled all 14 cords together with zip ties so tight the shelf looked like a showroom. Fired up the Dreamcast and got nothing but a black screen. Spent 40 minutes swapping cables before I figured out I had pulled the power brick half out of the wall while cinching the bundle. Cut every tie and used velcro straps instead, and now everything boots fine and I can still pull one cord without unplugging the rest. Velcro cost me $7 at the hardware store and it was worth every penny. Does anyone else run their power cords on a totally separate path from the AV cables, or am I overthinking it?

Zip tying 14 cords into one bundle is the same trap as stuffing every bill into one drawer and calling it organized, it looks tidy until you need to pull one thing out. Keeping power and AV cords on separate paths is not overthinking it, that's just basic cable sense.
