I swore shoe boxes were fine for my cartridge stash until I tried a fishing tackle box
For years I kept my loose SNES and N64 carts stacked in old shoe boxes under the TV stand in my one bedroom apartment in Sacramento, and I figured that was good enough. Then last weekend my buddy handed me his spare Plano tackle box, the clear one with the little dividers, and said just try it. I moved about 30 carts into it and the clear lid means I can see every label without digging, plus the dividers keep them from sliding around when I pull the box out. What really got me was the size, the whole thing slides under my couch where the shoe boxes never fit, and my shelf finally has room for the consoles again. I was sure anything made for fishing would look weird next to my setup, but it really just looks like a case, and honestly it holds better than the plastic cart trays I almost bought for $40. Now I'm second guessing my whole storage plan, so for those of you with loose carts, what are you using that actually fits in a tight spot?
