I quit folding my cables over themselves after a guy at the Columbus Micro Center showed me why my HDMI cords kept dying
For about 2 years I wrapped every cable around my elbow and jammed them into a shoebox, and I bet I killed 6 HDMI and USB cords that way in my little apartment setup. Last month an employee at Micro Center in Columbus watched me do it and said I was bending the copper right at the connector, which is where they always fail. He showed me the over under loop trick on a 10 foot cable, and 3 weeks in not one cord has cut out or gone flaky on me. Now I do it on everything, even my controller charge cables, and it takes maybe 5 extra seconds each. Has anyone found a good way to keep over under loops from unspooling once they are stacked in a bin?
