Warned my brother about split screen shooters and 3 months later he finally gets it
So back in March my brother kept bugging me to play this co-op shooter with him. Split screen only. I told him the frame rate drops hard when stuff gets crazy on screen. He blew me off. Said it looked fine to him. Fast forward to June and we are playing the same game after a big patch. Night and day. The frame drops during boss fights are basically gone now and we can both see what is happening. Before the patch we died constantly because the screen would stutter right when we needed to dodge. He called me after the patch dropped and just said "ok you were right." I know patches fix stuff but I did not expect it to be this drastic. Anyone else notice this with older split screen games getting fixed way later? Or is it just this one?
Did you ever try the old "everyone look at the ground" trick when the frame rate tanked? We used to do that in co-op games back in the day, just stare at the floor for a second to let the game catch up. It sounds dumb but it worked more than it should have. I feel for you though, dying over and over because the screen stutters is the worst, and it is worse when nobody believes you that it is the game and not you. It is cool your brother actually called to admit it instead of just quietly pretending it never happened. Late patches fixing old split screen games do happen, but it is rare to see one hit this hard, so hold on to that one.
