Vent: My brother's new girlfriend 'helped' us pick a game and it was a disaster

Last month, we had a game night at my place in Austin and she insisted we try this new 4-player platformer she'd heard was great. We spent the first 45 minutes just trying to figure out the awful, clunky controls, and nobody was having fun. What's a good, simple co-op game to break in someone who's new to gaming without killing the vibe?

Man, that sounds like a total mood killer. Been there with a game that looked cool but had controls that felt like wrestling a bear. For a chill co-op night with a new person, you can't go wrong with something like Overcooked 2. It's pure chaos but the controls are super simple, so everyone can jump in and scream about burgers right away.

Honestly, the "scream about burgers" part is so true. That game is perfect because failing is actually fun. Like when you accidentally throw a whole tomato into the lava instead of chopping it, you're both just laughing. It gets everyone on the same level fast, no one feels left out trying to learn complex buttons. Tbh it turns a quiet night into a hilarious mess in like five minutes.
