Old PS3" is the key phrase here! I forgot those things only have like, two USB ports max. You must have a crazy spiderweb of hubs going on.

Wait, only two ports? Honestly I thought it had more than that. Tbh I'm trying to picture how you even hook up a controller and a headset at the same time, let alone anything else. That's actually wild they built it like that. You'd need a hub just for the basic stuff.

The real kicker nobody mentions is how the bluetooth on those early PS3s would crap out if you had too many controllers synced at once. I had four DualShock 3s going one time and the system just started dropping inputs like it was allergic to fun. Pair that with the USB ports being super picky about what hubs they actually recognize and you've got yourself a recipe for a rage quit before the game even starts.
