That time I realized I was hogging the screen in co-op games for years

So I was playing Streets of Rage 4 with my brother last weekend and he kept losing his character off screen. I got annoyed at first until I watched him play solo and realized I was always zooming ahead grabbing all the collectibles. Turns out for the last 15 years I thought I was being helpful by clearing the path but I was just leaving everyone else with nothing to do and no idea where the enemies were coming from. My brother finally said 'dude can you just stay on my side of the screen for once' and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Anyone else ever get called out for being the bossy player in couch co-op?

Oh gosh, I read a study once that said screen hoggers like us are actually just bad at spatial awareness.

Telling your brother 'watch my feet' helped me slow down and stay visible on their side.
