Spent $60 on a second controller and it fixed our gaming nights

My buddy kept getting mad we only had one controller for fighting games. Picked up a cheap wired one at GameStop and now we actually finish a session without someone rage-quitting. Anybody else have a random purchase that saved their couch co-op setup?

Dude $60 for a SECOND controller? That's WILD when you're talking about a cheap wired one. I swear GameStop had those things for like $20 last time I was in there blowing money on clearance stuff. But hey whatever works, if it saved your gaming nights from ending in a screaming match over who gets the one controller then that's MONEY well spent any day of the week. My buddy and I had the same problem with Mortal Kombat until I found a beat up used one at a pawn shop for ten bucks and it honestly felt like finding a golden ticket in a chocolate bar.

Oh absolutely, I know exactly what you mean. I paid $40 for a used Xbox One controller at a pawn shop a couple years back and my buddy the_robin thought I was out of my mind. But honestly, when you're playing something like Halo and it's the only thing keeping you from throwing the console out the window, that extra controller is worth its weight in gold. My husband and I used to fight over the one controller so bad that I finally broke down and bought a third one just to keep the peace. Sometimes you gotta spend a little to save your sanity, especially if it means you can actually finish a game without someone storming off.
