Saturday night board game meetup turned into a Mario Kart brawl

I host a weekly game night and last Saturday in my living room we had four people fighting over the last slice of pizza while yelling about blue shells. It got so heated that my neighbor from downstairs knocked on my door thinking someone was getting murdered. Anyone got a chill couch co-op game that won't make my friends want to throw a controller at my TV?

I mean, honestly that sounds like a perfect game night to me. A little trash talking and chaos is what makes Mario Kart fun, maybe it's just me but I'd take that over a boring chill game any day.

Taylor's not wrong that a little chaos makes it fun, but it's kind of like how people are obsessed with road rage in real life too (you know, flipping someone off in traffic is basically the same energy as tossing a blue shell). I've noticed this whole cycle where we hype up competition to the point of forgetting it's supposed to be fun, then get surprised when it blows up in our faces. My buddy and I started playing "Overcooked" after a similar Mario Kart meltdown and, honestly, the panic of trying to get a pizza order out is way less stressful than dodging red shells and accusations of cheating.
