Rant: Took me 45 minutes to figure out why Player 2's controller wouldn't sync

I picked up a used Xbox One from a pawn shop downtown to replace my old one that died. Got it home and fired up Cuphead with my brother, but the second controller just kept blinking. I tried fresh batteries, plugged it in with a cable, even reset the console twice. Turns out the sync button on the console was stuck down from some sticky residue. Once I pried it loose with a toothpick it paired in seconds. Has anyone else dealt with a hardware issue that made you feel kind of dumb after you figured it out?

I stripped a screw once and realized later it was reverse threaded, happens to everyone now and then.

Happens to a lot of people actually. Most screws don't have reverse threads so it's an easy mistake.
