My kids finally got me to try a game that isn't 10 years old
For the longest time I only played older couch co-op games. Left 4 Dead 2, the original Halo trilogy, old Mario stuff. Figured if it worked then it still works now. But my son and daughter kept pestering me to play Overcooked 2 with them. I finally gave in last Saturday night and we went through 4 hours of it. The chaos of that game is something else. We were yelling at each other over who grabbed the tomatoes. Reminded me of the old days playing split-screen Halo but way more stressful in a good way. Has anyone else had a recent game surprise them after sticking to the classics for a long time?

The "who grabbed the tomatoes" part got me, I was wrong about newer games being all flash and no fun.

Hang on though, I still gotta push back a little. Most new games ARE all flash and no fun, that one's just a rare exception that proves the rule.
