My friend said my turn timers were too long for family game night
I used to let everyone take 5 minutes per move in our couch co-op puzzle sessions, but after he timed us and showed me we spent 40 minutes on one level round, I cut it down to 60 seconds and now we actually finish games before midnight.
Five minutes a move sounds like a hostage situation, not game night. Your friend did you a favor by timing it, honestly. Sixty seconds still feels generous too. Half the fun of a puzzle game is yelling at each other and moving fast, not staring at the screen in silence while someone thinks about their whole life. Midnight endings are for losers, nobody wants to be that house.
