My brother's wedding party in Boise made me rethink the 'no fighting games' rule for parties

We had a Smash Bros setup and it got way too heated, but honestly the trash talk and team-ups were the most fun we'd had in months. Anyone have good co-op games that keep things friendly but still competitive?

Honestly that "got way too heated" part is so real. Tbh my friend group had to ban Mario Kart after a holiday party because someone hid the winner's car keys as a joke. Ngl it took weeks to smooth things over. Competitive games just hit different with family and close friends. We switched to stuff like Overcooked where you're all yelling at the game instead of each other. It's still chaotic but way less likely to cause actual fights.

Is it really that big of a deal? People get loud over games, but it's just fun and games. It sounds like your group just needs to chill out a bit.
