I used to think Overcooked 2 was the ultimate couch co-op game until my brother brought over Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime last weekend and now I think chaos without the timer is way better

Switched from frantic kitchen chaos to managing a spaceship with the same 4 friends and realized we actually talk to each other now instead of just screaming about burnt burgers, has anyone else found a co-op game that made you rethink what you thought you liked?

Man YES that's EXACTLY what I'm talking about! Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime forces you to coordinate instead of just speedrunning tasks which actually makes it way more fun in the long run. The whole "no timer" thing lets the chaos feel playful instead of stressful, and that's honestly the secret sauce for a great co-op night.

You know what, I totally used to write that game off because I thought the whole "save the universe" thing was just busywork. But you're right, that lack of a timer is what makes it actually fun instead of just another frantic checklist. I gave it another shot after reading this and finally got why everyone's always yelling at each other laughing instead of just yelling.
