I ditched Overcooked for Catastronauts and never looked back
My group was stuck in an endless loop of screaming at each other over Overcooked's kitchen chaos. We switched to Catastronauts two months ago and the space ship repair mechanics are way more forgiving. Anyone else find a better alternative to the usual couch co-op staples?

Once you stop trying to both be in charge, it becomes way more fun" is exactly what we figured out with Catastronauts too. We split roles hard - one person pilots and shoots while the other runs around patching holes and putting out fires, and somehow that clear divide means nobody steps on each other's toes. It's like the game forces you to trust your partner with their job, which actually made us better friends than when we were both trying to run the show.

Man, I feel that. Overcooked nearly ended a friendship for us too.

Oh yeah @hill.hugo, "nearly ended" is exactly right. My best friend and I hit that same wall with Overcooked. We had to take a break and set some ground rules. Like now we decide who's the main chef before we even start, and the other person just focuses on passing ingredients and washing dishes. That way neither of us feels like we're being bossed around when the kitchen's on fire. It sounds dumb but it actually saved our game nights. Once you stop trying to both be in charge, it becomes way more fun and way less shouting.
