Debate: Is Overcooked 2 actually easier with 4 players or does it just get more chaotic?

I see people always saying add more players to make it smoother, but every time I try with 4 people we just bump into each other and plates go flying. Am I missing some hidden coordination trick, or is 2 players the real sweet spot?

Oh man, I feel this so hard... my friends and I just end up running in circles like a cooking disaster version of bumper cars. The extra bodies definitely add more chaos than coordination in my experience. 2 players is the sweet spot if you actually want to get those high scores.
