Vent: used the same dull scissors on my herb garden for 3 years and finally figured out why my basil kept dying
I was at my aunt's place in Boise back in April and watched her snip oregano with these tiny sharp shears, and she said she never uses kitchen scissors on plants because the crush does damage you can't see. Went home and looked at my poor basil, all brown at every cut point, and it hit me I had been mangling those stems every time I harvested. Bought a $9 pair of garden snips and the same plant bounced back in about two weeks. Anyone else learn a basic thing way too late from watching somebody older do it right?
