Vent: my mason jar candles tunnel every time because I trim the wick too short
I've been making soy candles in thrifted mason jars for about a year now, and 8 out of my last 10 batches tunneled down the middle with wax stuck to the sides. Turns out I was trimming the wick to a quarter inch before the first burn instead of letting that first 2 hour burn build a full melt pool. Does anyone else melt their leftover wax back down and re-pour, or do you just toss the whole jar?
