Unpopular opinion: Store-bought herbal wreaths can't compete with one you forage yourself

I spent $30 on a dried lavender wreath from Etsy last month and it looked sad after a week - crumbly, dusty, no smell. Then I spent an afternoon walking the ditch behind my property in Ohio and clipped wild grapevines, sage, and goldenrod. Twisted them up with some kitchen twine and it's held together for 3 weeks now, still smells like fall. Anyone else find that wild stuff just lasts longer than the fancy packaged stuff?

Man, I've noticed that with a lot of stuff now. The homemade version almost always holds up better than the polished store-bought one.

Gotta disagree with you there, miles. I tried making my own laundry detergent once from that internet recipe with soap flakes and washing soda. It turned into this weird gel glob that left white streaks on my dark clothes. Took me three extra rinses to fix it, totally not worth it. Store bought tide pods just work every time without the science experiment. Homemade stuff can be great for some things like bread or jam, but for cleaning and basic household stuff I'll take the factory version any day.
