Spent $80 on a fancy herb drying rack that just collects dust

I mean, I saw this pretty wooden rack online and thought it would be perfect for my kitchen window. It looked so cute in the pictures. But it only holds a tiny amount, and the herbs get dusty before they're dry. I used it once for some rosemary and thyme, and it took over two weeks. Now it just sits there looking sad. Has anyone found a better way to dry herbs that actually works?

Hey, didn't I read somewhere that hanging them in paper bags works better? You tie the stems and hang them upside down inside a brown paper bag. It keeps the dust off and lets air move around. I tried it with some oregano last summer and it dried way faster than just leaving it out. Maybe give that a shot before you toss the rack.

Actually, the paper bag thing can trap moisture if your house is already humid. I had a batch of mint go moldy that way. You need to check the bag every couple days and shake it out.

Oh yeah, the bag trick works great for basil too.
