Serious question, what did you all do before mason jars got so pricey?
I was at the Smithfield flea market in Virginia last Saturday and this older woman had a whole table of vintage Ball jars for a quarter each. I only had $3 on me so I grabbed 12 of them. She told me her grandma used to trade eggs for jars back in the day. Now I keep my dried beans and oats in them on the open shelf and it looks way better than the plastic tubs I had before. I also started making my own candle holders by wrapping the rims with twine. Has anyone else found a good source for old jars that doesn't cost a fortune?
