Real flowers vs dried lavender in the kitchen: which one actually lasts?

I put fresh wildflowers in a mason jar on my windowsill and they looked great for about 4 days before wilting. Then I tried a bundle of dried lavender I got from a farmers market in Oregon for $6 and it's been holding up for 3 months now. The dried stuff gives that old farmhouse smell but doesn't have the same bright pop of color. Has anyone else switched from fresh to dried for their centerpiece?

Yeah but now you've got sad dead weeds on your counter.

Agree completely omg I tried to be all aesthetic with eucalyptus in my shower and it literally just turned into a crispy brown stick in like a week. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong but nope they just don't last at all. I finally gave up and switched to fake ones from the craft store, they look way better and I don't have to stare at rotting plant corpses every morning. The whole dried flower thing is just a setup for sadness honestly. I'm with you on this one, fresh cut stuff belongs outside or in a vase for like 2 days max.
