Question about reviving a wilted rose bush after last week's heat wave

My rose bush looked totally dead on Monday, all brown and droopy. I gave it a deep soak with a mix of water and a bit of apple cider vinegar, then added a layer of mulch from my compost pile. By Friday the stems perked up and two new buds showed on the lower branches. Has anyone else tried this trick or should I just dig it out and start fresh with a hardier variety?

Might be the vinegar doing more harm than good long term, honestly. Roses like neutral to slightly acidic soil, but a heavy dose like that can burn the roots and mess with the pH balance. That quick perk up sounds more like the deep water and mulch doing the work, not the vinegar. If it bounces back now, great, but you might wanna test the soil before you get too excited about it.
