PSA: My attempt to make a proper willow trellis got way out of hand
I figured weaving one for my peas would be a nice afternoon project, but learning the right knots and finding enough straight shoots took me almost three full weekends. Has anyone found a simpler method that still looks nice?

Oh man I feel this so hard. I tried a willow arch last spring and it turned into a whole thing, I had sticks drying all over my garage for weeks. I mean maybe it's just me but I've totally given up on the fancy knots now. I just use a basic grid of garden twine tied to some bamboo stakes, it's not as pretty but the peas don't seem to mind at all.

Last year I spent three whole weekends trying to build a proper bean trellis with fancy weaving. My neighbor finally told me to just use the old tomato cages I had stacked behind the shed. I wrapped them with some cheap plastic netting and it worked perfectly. Sometimes the simple fix is right there and we overcomplicate it for no reason. Your twine grid sounds way smarter than my original plan.
