My little clay pot for herbs cracked right down the middle last week
I was moving it to catch more sun and heard that awful sound. It was a cheap one from the hardware store, maybe $4, but I'd painted little bees on it. Instead of tossing it, I used some garden twine to wrap it up tight, like a little package. It's holding together and looks kinda charming now, all rustic and mended. Anyone have a better fix for a cracked pot, or should I just embrace the twine look?

Oh come on, the twine rotting is part of the charm! That's the whole point of a fix like this, it's not meant to last forever. It's a cheap pot with painted bees, not a family heirloom. When the twine gives out, you get to fix it again or finally let it go. Trying to make it perfect with glue just kills the fun, rustic vibe you already made.

Isn't twine going to rot when it gets wet from watering? I've seen that happen before. For a cheap pot you want to keep, try a clear waterproof glue on the inside crack before you wrap it. That way the twine is just for looks and not doing all the work. It might last a lot longer that way.
