My grandma showed me how to make a simple rose water spray

She was in her garden in July, just picking petals from her old pink roses. She put them in a jar with water on her sunny windowsill for a week, then strained it into a spray bottle. What other garden flowers make a nice room spray?

Honestly, my lavender attempt last year smelled more like wet hay. It was a sad little project. I've had better luck with lemon balm, it gives a really fresh, clean scent. Mint is good too, but it can get a bit strong, so maybe mix it with something milder like chamomile. My garden is basically a series of failed experiments at this point.

Oh man, that wet hay smell is the worst! My rosemary turned out smelling exactly like pine-sol cleaner once, it was so bad. I keep trying to grow things for tea and end up with a cabinet full of sad, dusty jars. At this rate my hobby is just buying cute pots and then killing whatever I put in them.
