My drying rack fix took 3 weeks and a trip to the hardware store

I kept complaining about moldy laundry in my basement, but that cheap wooden rack finally snapped after 2 years of use. Turned out the joints were just loose, so I re-glued them and added a few small corner brackets for $4 total. Has anyone else repaired instead of replaced their old wooden stuff? It feels way more cottagecore to fix than toss.

So the wood was fine but just the joints gave out? That kind of stuff always surprises me, like how much good wood is left under all the grime. Did you sand it down or just glue over the old finish?
