Hit 50 jars of preserves this season and I'm kind of shocked

I started canning in July with just a few pounds of strawberries from the local patch. Yesterday I counted up all the jars in my pantry and there's exactly 50 of them now. That includes jams, pickles, and some tomato sauce from my garden. Never thought I'd actually fill a whole shelf with stuff I made myself. How many jars do you folks usually put up in a year?

My grandma used to say a full pantry meant you were ready for anything. 50 jars is impressive, it's like you've built your own little safety net.

Totally with you @susan_ward, my mom had a whole shelf of canned tomatoes and beans just in case.
