Heads up about using old jars for herb drying
I tried drying my lavender in a sealed mason jar last fall, and after a week the whole batch went moldy because I forgot to check for any leftover moisture, so has anyone found a better way to keep the air moving around them?

Willowc60's clothesline trick saved my basil last year.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way with some oregano. Tried the jar method like a genius and ended up with a fuzzy green science project. My closet looks like a weird herb hostage situation now with all the bunches hanging up.

A sealed jar for drying herbs is wild, that's basically asking for mold. You need air flow, like a lot of it. I hang my stuff upside down in small bunches from a clothesline in a dark closet. For smaller bits, a window screen propped up on books works too. Anything closed up tight is just gonna steam them and ruin your batch.
