Dried lavender bundles were a waste until I tried this

I used to think those little dried lavender bundles were just for looks. They smell nice for about a day then turn into dusty sticks. But last winter I started putting them in my linen closet and dresser drawers. Three months later my sheets still smell faintly of lavender, no perfumey chemicals. I bought a big bag at a farm stand near Portland for $8 and it lasted way longer than any candle. Anyone else had good luck with scent alternatives that are actually cheap?

Put a few dried sprigs in a muslin bag and toss it in your vacuum canister... every time you vacuum the whole room gets a light lavender hit. Also works with cedar chips if you're trying to keep moths away. Just don't forget to rough them up a bit every couple weeks to get the oils going again.

And then I spent a whole year thinking lavender was some kind of overpriced hippie dust that just sat there looking pretty. Turns out I was the fool all along, stuffing my socks with dryer sheets when I could have been living in a farm-fresh bougie paradise for less than the cost of one overpriced candle. I swear the lavender sets off some deep primal part of my brain that thinks I'm sleeping in a field instead of my apartment with the weird stain on the ceiling. Now I'm paranoid I'll run out and have to go back to that sad Febreze life.
