Finally swapped my old plastic totes for a thrifted cedar chest at a flea market for $30. The musty smell is gone and my wool blankets actually smell like a forest now. Has anyone else ditched modern storage for the old wood stuff?
Oh man, that's such a great find for thirty bucks! I read somewhere that cedar actually repels moths and bugs naturally, which is why our grandmas swore by those chests. Plastic just traps moisture and that weird stale smell, you know? I tried a similar swap with my dad's old army trunk and my sweaters have never smelled fresher. Plus, it's way nicer to look at than a pile of those flimsy bins stacked in the garage. You're making me want to go hit up some flea markets this weekend.
