Can we talk about using old tea bags to polish wood furniture
I was totally sure my grandma's tip about rubbing used, dried Earl Grey bags on my scratched-up oak table was nonsense until I tried it last Tuesday and it actually filled in the scratches and made the wood glow, so has anyone else tried this with a different kind of tea?

Oh wow, black tea works great too.

Totally jade3, I tried that trick once and ended up staining a corner of my living room floor a nice permanent shade of "oops." I guess my mop was way too wet and I basically gave my hardwood a tea bath it'll never forget.

My uncle swears by using a strong black tea to clean his old wood floors. He brews two family sized bags in a gallon of hot water and lets it cool completely. The tannins cut through grime without leaving a sticky residue like some store bought cleaners. Just make sure you wring out the mop really well so you don't add too much moisture.
