Warning: I was over-trimming my bangs for years

A client in Boise last month pointed out my own fringe looked a bit thin and uneven. I finally watched a video where they said to only cut hair when it's completely dry, and I'd been doing it damp this whole time. How do you all keep your own cuts looking sharp?

Dry hair is the only way to go. My bathroom mirror still has a tiny chip from that time I tried to trim my own layers with kitchen shears. The video tutorials make it look so easy, but then you end up with one side way shorter. Now I just use a pair of proper hair scissors and a ton of clips to section everything off. It still takes forever.

Oh man, the kitchen shears thing is a whole mood... I feel like every single tutorial skips the part where your arms get tired and you lose all sense of what's straight. Those tiny clips are a lifesaver, but you're right, it turns into a whole afternoon project. I just accept that my bathroom floor will look like a salon exploded afterward.
