Tried a cheap bowl brush vs a professional one for a month

I used a dollar store bowl brush for two months and thought it was fine until I grabbed a proper salon brand one off the supply shelf. The difference in scrubbing hard water stains was night and day, the cheap one left a ring every time. Anyone else notice a big jump with certain tools like brushes or combs?
