That $200 salon chair I thought was a steal ended up costing me double in the long run
I bought a used hydraulic salon chair off Facebook Marketplace for $200 thinking I saved a ton. It worked fine for about 3 months, then the pump started leaking and the seat wouldn't stay up. Now I'm stuck paying a repair guy $150 to fix it, and I'm wondering if I should have just bought new for $400. On the flip side, my coworker got a bargain chair from a salon going out of business and hers has lasted 2 years with zero issues. So is it worth rolling the dice on used equipment, or is new always better for things that get daily use? Anyone else have a thrift save or burn story with salon furniture?

$200 turned into $350 just like that" - yikes, that stings! I'd be so mad if I thought I was saving money and ended up almost at the new price anyway.

Feel your pain @harper_murphy, that's rough. When you think you're getting a deal but really just breaking even, it sucks.
