Rant: client argued with me for 10 minutes about a toner, then asked me to fix the damage herself caused
This happened yesterday at the shop on Main Street. A lady comes in with orange hair she did at home with box dye. I told her straight up it needs a professional toner and maybe 2 sessions to get to her cool blonde goal. She goes "I've watched YouTube, toner is toner" and insists I just slap on a purple one I have sitting around. I tried explaining pH and developer strength, she talked over me. After 10 minutes she grabbed a bottle of my purple toner off my cart, used it herself in the restroom mirror, and came out looking patchy gray. Then she had the nerve to ask me to fix it before her event at 6. I charged her $90 and rushed it, but honestly it still looked off. Have any of you dealt with a client who thinks they know more after watching a 5 minute video? How do you handle that without losing your cool?
