Ha! Been there. I once aimed for caramel highlights and got what my sister called 'cheeto orange'. Feel your pain, @the_felix. The technique part is huge, like leaving the dye on too long.

Read an article that said the biggest mistake is not doing a strand test first. Makes sense, but who actually has the patience for that.
