I was dead wrong about cheap developer. Did a side by side test last night.

For 3 years I've been using the $3 developer from Sally's, thought the expensive stuff was a scam. My girl at the beauty supply store in Austin talked me into trying a mid-tier brand. Did a test on my own hair - side by side, left side cheap, right side was the better brand. Left side lifted patchy and uneven. Right side came out smooth and even. I was pissed. All those foil highlights I did that came out blotchy were probably my fault for being cheap. Anyone else find out the hard way that some products are worth spending more on?

Yeah I was totally in the same boat, thought spending more on developer was just paying for the name. Then I did my own little test with a friend's hair and the cheap stuff left it looking fried while the mid tier one kept it soft and even. Kinda embarrassing how long I ignored the obvious difference.
