Finally got my toner mix right after 6 tries

I've been trying to tone a level 9 blonde to a cool beige for weeks but it kept pulling warm. Last client came in with yellow tones and I used a 1:2 ratio of violet to blue mixer instead of my usual 1:1. Has anyone else had luck adjusting their ratios when the toner isn't landing?

wait so what was the 6th try even for? like was it a foundation that kept separating or a mascara that dried out every time you opened it? because i've def had that one mascara that i kept adding eye drops to trying to save it and it just turned into a clumpy mess by attempt 4
