Finally got a client to stop using box dye

Last month, a regular came in with that familiar orange tint and fried ends. I showed her a picture of her hair from three years ago, before she started doing it herself, and she finally agreed to let me do a full color correction. Has anyone else found a gentle way to break that habit?

I read that showing before and after pictures can be the most convincing way.

Yeah I saw something about that too! They said it works because people can see the change for themselves. Makes total sense.

Three years of box dye damage? That's a long time to let that orange mess build up. Her hair must have been in rough shape by the end. Showing the old picture was a smart move, makes the change real for them. Some folks just don't see how bad it gets until you hold up the proof. Glad she finally listened and let you fix it.
