Appreciation post: tried a new brand of foils for highlights and the difference was huge

I've been using the same bulk foils from the supply house for years, but last month I picked up a pack of SalonCare Pro-Foils on a whim. The difference in how they hold the bleach and don't let it seep is night and day, especially on a tricky full head of highlights I did last Tuesday. Has anyone else made a switch like this that saved you from a potential mess?

Honestly, it's just foil. The cheap stuff gets the bleach on the hair, right? Seems like a lot of fuss over something you throw away.

It's funny how we stick with the cheap version of things for years. I used the same basic kitchen sponges forever until my roommate bought the more expensive kind. Suddenly dishes were actually clean and the sponge didn't fall apart in two days. You don't realize how much a small tool is holding you back until you upgrade it.
