A client told me my layers were 'too perfect' and looked like a helmet, which honestly stung a bit.

I started cutting them with more varied textures and leaving some pieces longer, and now her hair moves way better. Do you guys ever get feedback that makes you change your whole approach to a cut?

Oh totally, that "helmet" comment would get me too. I had a client say my bobs were all the same length and looked like a Lego haircut, which honestly changed how I blend everything now. It's wild how one piece of feedback can flip a switch.

Lego haircut, ouch, that's the kind of brutal honesty that makes you stare at a pair of shears for a solid hour.

Ha, yeah that Lego comment is brutal but it does stick with you. In my experience, once you start paying attention to the little flat spots or how the layers fall, you can't unsee it. Just takes some trial and error to find your rhythm.
