Thought the ironworker at the hall in Gary was messing with me about bolt torque, then I checked the spec sheet
He told me my impact wrench was over-torquing the 3/4 inch A325 bolts on a warehouse job in Hammond and I basically laughed, but 20 minutes with a torque wrench proved him right and now I owe him lunch.
Tbh I had the same thing happen on a bridge job in Indy, foreman kept saying our guns were fine and the bolts were good. Grabbed a click type torque wrench and half the connections were 30 to 40 percent over, some of them were already starting to snap in the box. Turns out the impact just doesn't stop when it should and those A325s stretch past yield before you even know it. Save your lunch money and buy the guy two sandwiches, he earned it.
