Dropped $2,400 on a used mini excavator and it paid for itself in one summer
Back in 2019 I bought a used Bobcat 331 off a guy in Bakersfield for $2,400, and I was sweating that whole drive home. That little machine dug about 40 fence post holes and cleared a quarter acre of brush for a neighbor, and he handed me enough cash to cover what I paid plus some. Ten years back I would've just rented and spent three times that in fees over the same stretch. Only downside is the tracks are getting worn and I'm looking at a few hundred bucks to replace them. Anybody else here run older machines like this, and do you bother fixing them up or just run them till they quit?
