DAE think quick attach plates are overrated? Lost 6 hours to one on a skid steer last Friday
Everyone on jobsites acts like a quick attach plate saves you time, but last Friday it cost me a full afternoon on a Bobcat S650 in Fresno. The pins had rusted just enough that the locking lever would not seat, and I kept thinking it was the hydraulic pressure, so I bled lines for an hour for no reason. Turned out the plate was slightly bent from a previous rental and the pin holes were off by a hair, which I only found after swapping attachments three times and measuring with a caliper. Six hours gone on a job that should have been a 20 minute swap, and the rental yard acted like it was my fault. Anyone else had to fight a bent plate and find a better way to check one before it wastes your day?
