Can we talk about how I ran my mini excavator at full throttle for 2 years
I was doing a small drainage job in Bakersfield last month and the hydraulic oil got so hot it started smelling burnt. A guy with 30 years on machines asked why I was running the throttle wide open all day, and I didn't have a good answer besides "it digs faster." He pointed out that I was at 2,200 RPM for no reason when the pump only needs about 1,600 for this kind of work. My fuel bill dropped about 18% that month and the oil stays cool now. Has anyone else found out they were just running their machine wrong the whole time?
