Warning: that 2017 moon landing photo sequence I debunked myself

I was digging through NASA's own archives last weekend trying to prove a point about a shadow angle in a famous Apollo 17 image, and I accidentally found the exact same photo taken from a different angle that showed the shadow matched perfectly. My own pet theory fell apart in about 10 minutes once I had both frames side by side. Has anyone else had a conspiracy belief get wrecked by their own research?

Maybe it's just me but isn't that kind of refreshing? Nothing beats having your own theory fall apart with solid evidence.

That's the wildest thing about this stuff. Once you actually do the work instead of just watching a 10 minute youtube video, most of these theories crumble fast. Jason is right, seeing your own pet theory die with your own eyes is honestly the best feeling because it means you learned something real. Like that time I was absolutely certain the Apollo 16 rover tracks were faked because they looked too sharp in one press photo, turns out the dirt there is basically talcum powder and it compresses exactly like that. You gotta actually want to be wrong, that mindset changes everything about how you look at evidence.
